Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

No guessing what this newsletter will focus on. Our production last Thursday was an absolute hit for all involved, be they performer or audience member alike. To not only sell out, but then have to secure additional seats for even more audience members speaks volumes for the care parents and family have for their children, and their involvement with the school.

It was an absolute pleasure and privilidge to have the Minister for Education take time out of her very busy schedule and attend our production also. She was amazed at both the performances themselves, but also how each performance was linked to the inquiry topic each grade were exploring this term, and how clever the students were in doing this.

Of course nights like these do not come about by chance. The level of planning and detail that went into the night started last year with Sally Wilson and Renata Cugliari doing an amazing job as directors and producers of the show. All the other staff at the school contributed with choreography, costume making, music, rehearsal and the list goes on and on... Collectively, I couldn't be more proud to be a part of such an amazing group of dedicated people each with the goal of making the night memorable for our students.

And finally, a review of the night would not be complete without mentioning the stars of the show - our students. From our most magnificent student leaders narrating the show from start to finish to our scientists, scuba divers, whales, crocodiles, construction workers, stars in the night sky and tour guides, each and every one of them did an outstanding job and no doubt will remember that night for many years to come. So on behalf of everyone involved - thank you.

On other news, we currently have 38 grade 2 and 3 students whose parents have indicated they will be attending Cave Hill Creek Camp next year. At this stage, that number is not sufficient to make the camp viable, however we have time should parents like to reconsider.  If you are keen for your current grade 2 or grade 3 child to attend camp next year, please contact the office, preferably before the end of term, but at the very latest early next term.

For this week please remember it is Footy Colours Day on Friday (or any team/sport colours your child would like to wear) for a gold coin donation. The donated money will be used by our student leaders to further the work they do with KIVA supporting families around the world. On this day school finishes at 2:30pm.

Kind Regards,
