Principals Report
I would like to start this Principal’s Report with a huge THANK YOU to our entire school community for the generous donations we have had in support of one of our families in need. In true Chaser style, our community has once again pulled together, and we have been inundated with food, clothes, and toys for the family. The family is overwhelmed to say the least with the generosity they have received. They greatly appreciate your kindness and support at this time.
A message from the family:
To The Wonderful staff and Amazing Kind Families of Berwick Chase Primary We would like to express our absolute appreciation for all the support and donations we have received. This has helped out so so much. We are so very overwhelmed by the generosity shown by the school community in our time of need especially when we know how hard it is for everyone at this time. We would like to say thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.
We are now halfway through the term, and what a busy term it’s been!
Term 3 is jam packed full of different activities, ranging from Swimming Lessons, Camps and The Alpha Show, to our very popular Book Character Parade later in the term.
With all these activities, we have many visitors coming into the school to enjoy the various events and celebrations with their family and friends. This in turn increases the road traffic around our school.
Everyday we are finding more and more people other than staff are parking in the staff carpark to drop off and pick up their children. This is a great concern for the school, as well as the School Council and many of our parents, who have raised their concerns over the potential of a child being hit by a car. This is a growing concern in regard to both the Staff Carpark as well as on the streets surrounding the school.
We understand it is an easy option on those really cold, wet mornings or afternoons to just quickly duck into the carpark or double park in the street to allow students to jump into the car, however these are extremely dangerous practices, and it is too late once a child has been hurt.
The School Council have been working hard to raise the issues regarding our traffic concerns around the school with Casey Council. The Council and Highway patrol will be monitoring the area in the coming weeks. Please be aware that you will receive a fine if you are caught parking in the wrong spot, including the drop off zone.
Please join us in encouraging your friends to not park in the staff car park and to ensure they are driving/parking safely within the school zone.
It is your children we are trying to protect.
Stay tuned for more information about raising awareness on this very important issue to keep our school community safe.
Regards
