ALL ABOUT LEMONS!!
The students were really excited to be back in the kitchen today.
As it is the season for them at the moment our session today was all about LEMONS! and lots of them. We made a traditional Sicilian biscuits called Savoiardi. These have lemon rind in the an they are a soft, moist biscuits. The students had a great time putting the mixture into icing sugar before placing them on tray. Some of the students didn't like getting their hands dirty as the mixture was sticky.
Next on the menu was homemade lemonade. We all worked together to squeeze the juice from all the lemons using a variety of juicers.
A HUGE thankyou goes to Cettina and her family for generously donating our new colourful aprons. The students loved them and they sure helped them in keeping their uniforms clean!
