Mrs Gliddon is off to Italy

During Week 11 and the school holidays, I will be heading to Reggio Emilia to participate in a worldwide conference for teachers at the Loris Malaguzzi Centre to invest in my knowledge around the principles and practices of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project for Children.  

Having attended in 2019, this experience propelled my passion for inquiry-based education for children that positions the child at the centre of everything an educator believes about themselves and their practice.  This posture of education is diverse in its approach and offers at times an unnerving sense of awe and wonder at the possibilities that behold a child and educator as they research in partnership with one another.

In my absence Mrs Karen B will be supporting the leadership of the Centre along with the Lead Teachers; Mrs Childs, Mrs Vanessa and Miss Shelly.  Our Principal, Mrs Evie Stevens will also be present at the Centre throughout my time away to support the team.  I entrust the Centre into the care of these very capable leaders and look forward to sharing in my adventures with you on my return.
