Holy Saviour School Bulletin

Dear Families,

This week has been a short week, but we’ve certainly managed to pack a lot into it! With only two weeks left of Term 1, there is still quite a bit happening around the school.

Catholic Education Hub for Vermont & Vermont South

After many months of planning and meetings, I am excited to announce that the MACS Board and Archbishop Comensoli have approved the proposal for the visionary K-12 Catholic Education Hub for Vermont and Vermont South. From 2025, our Holy Saviour School site will become the Junior Campus of Emmaus College. There is still quite a lot of work to be completed over the next 6-9 months to have everything ready to begin in 2025, but this is a really exciting time for us all. Yesterday, I sent out a letter to all familieswith more details and an invitation to attend a joint parent information evening next week. If you would like to attend, please let me know via email.

Harmony Day - Thursday 21st March

In celebration of Harmony Day this Thursday 21st March, we are encouraging all children to come to school dressed in clothes representing their family's heritage. Clothing could be a national costume, or clothing in the country's ethnic colours.

Children will also have the opportunity to order a special Harmony Day Lunch via CDFpay. Children will be able to order a slice of pizza, juice and either an ice cream or icy pole for $5 (extra pizza slices $2).  All orders must be submitted via CDFpay by Monday 18th March 12pm.

We would love some parent helpers on Thursday 21st March at around lunch time to assist with the lunches.  If you are able to help please contact the office.

School Sports & Family Picnic - Friday 22nd March

Our School Sports are going to look a little different this year. They are going to be held on Friday 22nd March, beginning at 4pm with some traditional flat races (varying distances) and relays followed by Kaboom Sports from 5 - 6:30pm which is a wonderful active fun social event. This event will be celebrated with the students and families of St Timothy’s and will be held on the St Timothy’s school sit. This will be a great opportunity for the two school communities to come together following the announcement. We ask that families bring along a picnic to enjoy a very special evening together. There will be a BBQ as well. Any parents who are able to assist, please indicate on the Audiri form that was sent out today.

NAPLAN

This week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students completed the Writing and Reading tests for NAPLAN, the Year 3s also completed the Conventions of Language test today. We have been very impressed with the way in which they have each approached the tests this week. The Year 5s will be completing the Conventions of Language test on Monday, and Numeracy tests will be conducted by both Year 3s & 5s on Tuesday.

Our Giant Easter Egg Hunt will be on again this year for any 3 & 4 year old children, and our Prep children. This will be held on Wednesday 27th March at 9:30am on the school oval.
