3D Shape
This week, the students were engaged in exploring the 3D shapes.
VOCABULARY
3D shape: are shapes that can be filled inside with for example sand, water etc. 3D shapes have sides, faces and corners.
Sides: the edges of a 3D shape.
Faces: a flat or curved surface of a 3D shape.
Corners: the pointy parts on a shape where two sides meet.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
Together with your child look around your house, go for a walk or places you may visit and look for 3D shapes. Ask your child to point out any 3D shapes they can see e.g. a building- rectangular prism, a box- cube, drink bottle- cylinder.
