CPS & WPS Swimming Carnival

Our annual CPS / WPS Swimming Carnival was held at Prahran Aquatic Centre on February 14th this term. Our grade 3-6 students displayed high spirits, sportsmanship, camaraderie amongst their peers and enthusiastic support and encouragement for their house groups throughout the day. The atmosphere was electric as students eagerly gathered to showcase their swimming skills, supported by their friends, teachers, and proud parents.

Throughout the day, the pool echoed with cheers and chants as our grade 3-6 students competed in a variety of events, including freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and some thrilling relay races. The students concluded their day with a ‘free swim’ session accompanied by some music to celebrate a fantastic day out!

Ribbons were awarded to acknowledge our students placing 1st-4th in each race, but every participant left with a sense of pride in their achievements and the memories of a day filled with joy and friendly competition. Several students qualified to represent CPS at District Swimming which was a huge achievement!

Thank you to our parent helpers and teachers for their generous support throughout the day. The carnival was a huge success thanks to our whole school community working together to make it all happen!

Southport District Swimming

On Friday, February 23rd, twenty-four students returned to Prahran Aquatic Centre to compete in the Southport District Swimming Carnival, 2024. Our students competed against students from twelve other schools within the Southport District.

Our CPS representatives were outstanding on the day. Not only did they wear their purple swimming caps with utmost pride and respect, but they demonstrated an immense understanding of sportsmanship and team spirit. Our students cheered each other on and hyped each other up throughout the day and had a fantastic day of fun, competition, and laughter.

Congratulations to our 24 CPS competitors, we are very proud of your achievements!

We had seven swimmers qualifying for the Beachside Division Swimming Carnival 2024.

Beachside Division Swimming

On Friday, March 8th, seven students made their way to Oakleigh Recreation Pool to compete in the Beachside Division Swimming Carnival, 2024.

I would like to congratulate Ren Wantrych- Go (5/6B), Rio Fujino (5/6C), Reina Hernandez (5/6B), Kiku Weis (5/6C), Hudson Slaney (3/4D) and Barnabas Zoltan (3/4D) on making it this far. This was a huge achievement! Well done to you all. Our CPS students and staff are very proud of you all.

Grade 5/6 Tee Ball Gala

On Friday, March 1st, our grade 5/6 students travelled to Fawkner Park to participate in this year’s Tee-Ball gala Day. The students were split up into five mixed-ability and mixed-gender teams, with captains Caitlin, Ethan, Hoang, Kaylee, Will, Kiku, Coco Le, Callum, Oscar and Harrison leading their teams throughout the tournament.

Our students had a wonderful day of fun and laughter and it must be noted that our students displayed a very high level of skill and knowledge of the game, with most of our teams returning to school undefeated after a day of competing against Toorak, South Yarra, Windsor, Armadale and St. Kilda. Each team did exceptionally well throughout the day and alongside their success, demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and respect, which was noted by the volunteers from St. Kilda Baseball, highlighting Caulfield Primary School for our ‘awesome skills and admirable sportsmanship’.

Thank you to our parent helpers and teachers for supporting our students throughout the day, it was a really wonderful day overall!

St. Kilda Football Club CPS Appearance

On February 23rd, the atmosphere at our school was electric as St Kilda Football Club players graced us with their presence for an exclusive Q&A session and autograph signing. Our very excited grade 3-6 students gathered outside for the chance to engage with some of their sporting heroes! The players answered questions with enthusiasm, inspiring our students with stories of perseverance and teamwork. As the session drew to a close, the players kindly took the time to sign autographs. It was a memorable day, igniting passions for both sport and community within our school.

The STEM classroom in Term 1

We have had a very exciting term so far in the STEM room as we have started to learn about the design process, through many engaging, hands-on science and engineering tasks. Students from all year levels have been working collaboratively with their peers and sharing ideas.
