Safety & First Aid News
The Sunsmart Policy provides guidelines to support staff and students to use a combination of sun protection measures when UV index levels are 3 or above (generally mid August to end of April). The First Aid Officer monitors the UV index level all year round, as Melbourne weather can be unpredictable.
Flu creeping up on us (usually between May and October), so it is now to consider precautionary measures, such as:
- Get a flu shot
- Wash your hands
- Cover coughs and sneezes
- Bin your tissues
- Avoid sharing
- Keep surfaces clean
- Self-care at home
The flu is NOT excluded unless considered necessary by the Chief Health Officer. Please see the School exclusion table for primary schools and children's services for more information.
We encourage families to use caution and be guided by health practionners but avoid lengthy periods of absence where students could return to school.
