CSPS embraces the vision of the Marrung Aboriginal Education Plan and celebrates the culture, knowledge and experiences of First Nations Peoples. We are committed to creating and maintaining a school environment that empowers Koorie students to feel valued, respected and culturally strong.

CSPS has a number of measures in place to ensure our community acknowledges and appreciates the strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. These measures are outlined in the Aboriginal Learning, Wellbeing and Safety Action Plan.

Child Safe Communication

Child safe is everyone's responsibility.  CSPS is fully committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation and protecting students from all forms of abuse.

As such, it is crucial that parents/carers and the school community have the opportunity to have a say in the development and review of child safety and wellbeing policies and practices.

After any Child Safe incident, the school will communicate any updates of school policies and procedures as a result of a review, through the School Council papers and iNewsletter entries.

School Council will monitor on an ongoing basis the effectiveness and implementation of risk controls that have been considered in the Child Safe Risk Register.

Policy involvement

CSPS has a Policy Sub Committee which focuses on policy development, consultation and ratification.  The Policy Sub Committee

  • meet once a month
  • are always seeking feedback to ensure that policies are pure and authentic to purpose.

If you would like to a member of the Policy Sub Committee or would like to provide feedback in other ways, please contact the Office, attention Principal.

After any significant child safety event (or every two years), CSPS Policy Sub Committee will inform the school community of any changes made to policies or procedures as a result of their review.
