ASC and Anglicare WA's Walk-a-Mile Campaign

About the Campaign

The Walk-a-Mile Campaign is our community’s heartfelt endeavour to make a tangible difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness in Western Australia. Through this initiative, we encourage the All Saints’ College community to act, raise awareness, and foster a positive change in the lives of those facing adversity on the streets. By contributing towards this campaign, with kind donations and walking the extra mile to reflect on the challenges faced by others, we can collectively make a powerful impact in our community. In addition to our goal of alleviating homelessness in our society through this campaign, we are also aiming to cultivate a spirit of empathy, kindness and shared responsibility within our community.

The Impact

All funds raised from this campaign will be donated to Anglicare’s youth outreach service, Street Connect.  This service provides support and advice to young people aged 15–25 years who are at risk of homelessness or currently experiencing homelessness in Perth. The youth workers at the Street Connect Bus provide professional support such as case management support, crisis intervention and referrals to other services. Essentially, Street Connect helps young people to find safe, secure housing and minimise the length of time they spend homeless. Street Connect relies entirely on donations to continue operating, so we are donating to this impactful service to support them and contribute to this important initiative.

Get Involved

You can contribute to the Walk-a-Mile Campaign by joining the campaign yourself or sponsoring someone who is already participating in this campaign. Both actions can significantly impact the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

On Friday 8 March, we celebrated our halfway milestone by having some of the Walk-A-Mile participants come to the ASC campus to meet, eat and walk two laps of the oval.  With exciting decorations, energising music, a sausage sizzle, and each other’s company, this event was a lot of fun. It was great to see members of the broader community taking up the challenge and supporting this important initiative.

The ASC Anglicare Ambassadors want to positively impact the lives of people who are enduring homelessness, and together, with your help, we can do it!
