Positive Behaviour for Learning
Winter sun still has a high UV rating and it is a recommendation that students in K-6 wear a hat on the playground for sun protection. Sunblock can also be applied before outdoor play.
We also encourage secondary students to wear hats and apply sunscreen daily.
A school hat is provided when all students commence at Anson Street School and there are a variety of options available at Orange Clothing Company including bucket hats, wide-brimmed hats and baseball caps all with our school logo embroidered on. Baseball caps that are not representative of the school are great for home but are not allowed at school. We would like all students to take pride in our school by wearing the school uniform correctly.

Positive Wellbeing for Learning
Every year at our school, many secondary students complete the EPOCH Wellbeing survey. This survey assesses five positive psychological characteristics (Engagement, Perseverance, Optimism, Connectedness, and Happiness) that might foster well-being, physical health, and other positive outcomes through a student's schooling and into adulthood.
Our school has a strong focus on positive education and student wellbeing and this survey provides us with data so that we can then focus on strategies and activities to target student's specific areas of need. It also provides us with a valuable measure of student growth in the area of student wellbeing.
