APS Fair Sat 4th May

APS FAIR UPDATE

Saturday 4 May, 2pm - 7pm

Hi everyone,

With the fair only six weeks away, the Community Events and Fundraising team is getting into the swing of fair organising, and... we need your help!

You'll receive a printed info pack later this week outlining all the ways you can support the fair, and we've included a short wrap-up below:

Sustainability

We've been inspired by the children's commitment to environmental sustainability, and this year, we plan to implement a range of waste management and reduction initiatives across the event. The number one way you can help is to ensure that all second-hand donations are of excellent, sellable quality so that we avoid items ending up in landfills following the event. We'll also have a Wash Against Waste station and will encourage people to BYO bags, water bottles, and cups.

Donations

Now is the time to start clearing out the kids' rooms! After Naplan, we'll start collecting excellent-quality donations of clothes, toys, books, and trashless treasure.

This term, donations can only be dropped off on Monday, 25 March, and Thursday, 28 March. Next term, we'll be taking donations on Mondays and Thursdays.

Silent Auction

We still need a range of “big ticket” items for the Silent Auction. Ideas include artwork, experiences, wine, sports tickets, memorabilia, trips away (beach house, anyone?), fashion, and fitness packages. We’re open to anything!

Mystery Bags

Antionette still needs more donations!  The kids go wild for these and the donation list for this is endless! Art/craft supplies - All kinds of stationary - hair accessories/ nail polish - oshies/figurines - sticker/stamps - balls/magnets/key rings/gadgets/party bag fillers - cars/marbles - jewellery (bracelets, beads, necklaces, clips) - individually wrapped treats/lollies/chip packets - slime/ small games/toys - collector cards. There is a special box in the Office for these donations!

Cakes and Preserves

We'll be running the ever-popular cake and preserve stalls again, so please be sure to look for specific information about how you can contribute to these stalls.

Volunteers

The fair is 100% APS community-run and we need your time, muscles and smiles! If every family sets aside 2-4 hours to volunteer on the day, we can spread the load across the whole school. Volunteering at the event is a lot of fun and a great way to connect with the wider APS community. We need sausage sizzlers, stall helpers, set-er-up-ers, dishwashers and bar servers. Please complete the APS School Fair Volunteer Registration form to register your interest and availability.

If you have any questions or ideas for the fair, please reach out to us at: alphingtonps.cef@gmail.com

Thanks in advance!
