AUTISM INCLUSION TEACHER

T3 2025

Hello from the Autism Inclusion Teacher,

Parent Session with SIES – Exploring Assistive Technology

We were so pleased to welcome Candice from SIES (Statewide Inclusive Education Services) to our school last week for a parent information session. The focus was on assistive technology and how it can support children with their learning, communication, and independence.

Candice shared lots of practical tips and examples of tools that can make a big difference for children – from speech-to-text programs and visual supports, to apps that help with organisation, reading, and writing. Parents enjoyed seeing how these tools can be used both at school and at home to help children feel more confident.

A big thank you to Candice for taking the time to share her knowledge and resources with us. Below is some information from the presentation and a brief snapshot about SIES. If you’d like to know more about what SIES can offer, please reach out and I can point you in the right direction.
