Behind the scenes, students and staff are working tirelessly to bring the magic of Far Far Away to life. Our large set pieces are taking shape beautifully, with plenty of painting, building and creativity happening each week.

A huge thank you to Graeme Miller and Mark Niglia for their incredible work and support in creating these spectacular set elements – their skills and generosity are helping make this production truly shine.

We can’t wait to share this hilarious, heart-warming show with our school community!

Congratulations Willow

Congratulations to Willow (Year 4) who has progressed to the next level of the Lions Club Public Speaking Awards after winning here at St Augustine's, then at St Patrick's Tongala and most recently in Numurkah.

Willow will now compete at the District Final being held in Corowa on 31st August.

We are very proud of Willow's achievements and wish her the very best for the next round.

Purple Day for the Gift

On 8th August, our our school community dressed in purple to raise funds in support of The Gift.

This year’s Purple Day focused on providing the F-6 students with a lunch time disco. Senior students, Katelyn, Abby, Shanikka and Lily, helped plan the event with Purple Pete and provided the students with novelties, activities, prizes and a farewell goody bag full of treats. Students jumped, jived and limboed their way through lunch, all for a good cause.

To add some further excitement to the day, a raffle was held offering the temptation of three purple themed chocolate baskets as prizes:

1st – Amelie Z (Year 5)

2nd – Aaliya S (Foundation)

3rd – Archie W (Year 5)

Thank you to

  • Katelyn, Abby, Shanikka and Lily for organising the day.

  • Staff and students for providing a gold coin donation and wearing their purple with pride. Some wore just a touch of purple and others covered themselves from head to toe.

  • Nathan V for his amazing clean up of the Brigidine Centre after the disco.

St Augustine’s raised a total of $895 for The Gift on the day.

What is the Gift?

The Gift is a Kyabram-based charity that supports individuals and families from our local community who are diagnosed with cancer.

When people are diagnosed with cancer, the lives of the entire family are disrupted. The individual may not be able to work due to their health and treatment schedule. It is also a very emotionally difficult time for sufferers and their families. The Gift provides help to local people in this situation by providing support that best suits them; usually in the form of bill payments, provision of transport, a weekend away or a home visit to show moral support.

In line with our College values of community and partnership, The Gift Purple Day is an annual event that St Augustine’s continues to support with heartfelt kindness and generous community spirit.

Thank you for your support of The Gift and Purple Day.

Foundation 100 Days of School

Our Foundation students recently celebrated their 100th day of school with classroom activities, cupcakes and a dress up day.

Celebrating National Science Week 2025 - Decoding the Universe

National Science Week at St Augustine’s was packed with fun, curiosity and discovery. The theme Decoding the Universe gave us the chance to explore nature’s 'hidden language' through all sorts of activities.

From F–4 students painting and matching animal footprints, to Years 5–12 students growing crystals and experimenting with lasers, there was science happening everywhere! Lunchtime films with David Attenborough inspired us to see our planet from a new perspective, while quizzes and design entries kept brains buzzing.

A massive shout-out to everyone who joined in, shared ideas and had great science conversations.

Science Week showed us that science isn’t just in textbooks – it’s all around us, in everything we see, build and imagine. Let’s keep asking big questions and exploring the unknown.
