What an amazing term of learning, celebrations and events we are having! As we begin the process for our 2026 Student Leaders, we reflect on the incredible work and efforts of our School Leaders for 2025 so far, and the impact and influence they have on our school.
Recognising and celebrating student voice, agency and engagement continues to be a significant priority as we work together to improve outcomes for all in our school community.
We continue to provide a range of opportunities, activities and experiences that provide leadership, formation and growth and are continually impressed by our students of all ages who are so eager to learn, develop and grow.
Staff Spirituality Day
Our College staff were privileged to take part in Catholic Education Sandhurst's organisation-wide Spirituality Day last Wednesday, 13th August.
This gave us the opportunity as both a school staff and community, and as Catholic Education Sandhurst, to engage, be present, be still and encounter the Plenary with Rev Jake Mudge, the workshops and our work together in the afternoon. Not only was it an amazing day, but it will continue to have impact and significance as we continue our work together.
The connections with our theme of Pilgrims of Hope, and the work we are doing here at St Augustine's and in Catholic Education Sandhurst were celebrated in our afternoon session as we reflected about what we had experienced and learnt, and how it influences our work and our own spiritual journeys.
Thank you to Catholic Education Sandhurst, Rev Jake Mudge, presenters, facilitators and staff who made this incredible day possible.
Masses and Liturgies
On Thursday 14th August we held our Liturgy for our Foundation and Year 12 students. It was a wonderful celebration of our Buddy Program and the amazing work and efforts of these students. Our Year 12s supported our Foundation students in participating in all facets of the Liturgy, focusing on our theme of When I grow up. We have been undertaking a variety of tasks exploring who and what we would like to be when we grow up. Well done Foundations and Year 12s.
Yesterday, Thursday 21st August, Years 3, 4, 9 and 10 students celebrated their Liturgy with the theme The Importance of God’s Word (Celebrating Learning, St Augustine “Take Up and Read”, Book Week). This was an amazing opportunity to celebrate our patron, St Augustine, the significance of Scripture and the books and reading that has impacted and influenced our lives.
Next Thursday, 28th August, is our whole school Mass celebrating St Augustine’s Feast Day. Please refer to the Operoo for additional details. We are excited to welcome Fr Michael Morley to celebrate Mass with us in the Brigidine Centre at 11:30am.
We invite our school community to join us to celebrate Mass, followed by our College Captain Applicant speeches, our Family Picnic Lunch and Cupcake Day!
AND
We are excited to announce that we will be unveiling the time capsule from the year 2000! A huge thank you to all who have contributed to this, allowing us to celebrate the people, the events and all that has made our story.
A special thank you to the Beck, Harding and Chester families for their support and assistance with this!.
It was wonderful to join Legacy for a lunch with our College Captains, Tia and Jett, yesterday. It is so special to share stories and experiences with our community and we look forward to continuing this on Wednesday 3rd September, when we have our Lone Pine Ceremony.
Thursday 4th September is our Beaut Blokes Breakfast and Liturgy to celebrate the special men in our lives. We look forward to this and donning our footy and sporting team colours.
On Thursday 18th September we will be holding our final Mass and Liturgy for the term, celebrating our Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 students.
Sacramental Program
Our students undertaking the Sacramental Program are working wonderfully and their participation in our Sunday Masses has been fantastic! We look forward to celebrating their Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation later in the year.

Our College Prayer
As we prepare to celebrate our St Augustine’s Feast Day, we share with you our College prayer.
God of life,
Created in your image,
We follow in the footsteps of your Son, Jesus.
We seek to know, love and serve you
as St Augustine and St Brigid did.
Jesus, our friend, inspire in each of us
an openness to being your missionary disciples.
Be with our College community as we
seek wisdom, pray for peace and work for justice.
Holy Spirit, guide us, to live with hope and courage
and to celebrate the gift of life with joy and gratitude.
We pray for the strength: To embody kindliness
St Brigid of Kildare: Pray for us
St Augustine of Hippo: Pray for us
