Fr Uday and Fr Novelito Lim on Leave
Fr Uday is away until 12th September. There will be no Mass on Saturday 23rd August during his absence. During Fr Novi’s leave of absence, Fr Michael Morley will celebrate Mass on 7th September, other Mass times in Tongala will be Liturgies each month during Fr Novi’s absence.
2025/26 Social Justice Statement
Signs of Hope on the Edge: Serving People Living in Homelessness and Mental Ill-Health, Australia’s Bishops, provides a picture of what life is like for people living in homelessness and mental ill-health and the difficulty in providing adequate support for them. The statement urges every Christian to offer service, as Jesus did, to our sisters and brothers created in the image of God. Many Australians find it embarrassing, uncomfortable or even confronting to see homeless people on the streets; but we encourage all who are baptised to instead, offer loving friendship to people on the edge of society. Instead of walking by and not noticing the plight of our neighbours, pay attention to them and their plight, listen to their stories, and serve them with the love we learn from Jesus. In this Jubilee Year, Pope Francis reminded us, as Christians, of our “fundamental vocation to be, in the footsteps of Christ, messengers and builders of hope.” We appeal to all Christians to join us in going to the edge of society to befriend our fellow Australians who are living on the streets, who are often struggling with serious mental ill-health, to be signs of hope, to be the good news that God’s unfailing love embraces everyone.
CCR Pilgrims of Hope Renewal Day
Catholic Charismatic Renewal Sandhurst are holding a Pilgrims of Hope Renewal Day (Jeremiah 29:11-14). Come along for a time of praise and worship, fellowship, faith formation, understanding gifts of the Holy Spirit. The day includes celebration of Charismatic Mass with Fr Arun Korlakanti, the Spiritual Chaplain for CCR.
Saturday 6th September, 2025 from 9.30am to 3pm. St Brendan’s Knight St. Shepparton at Mons Peter Jeffrey Centre.

Bishop Appointment
Bishop Shane will be installed as Archbishop of Brisbane at St Stephen’s Cathedral on Thursday 11th September 2025. A Farewell Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo on Sunday 7th September, 2025.
St Patrick's Parish Strathmerton
St Patrick's Parish Strathmerton will celebrate 90 years of worship with a Thanksgiving Mass on Saturday 13th September at 6pm. All welcome. Please spread the word.
