In reading, we have been recently explored the Stories of Anne Frank and her experience during the Holocast. This has tied nicely into our History Inquiry Projects. Students have reading extracts from the diaries of Anne Frank and writing their own journal entires, trying to imagine what it would be like to have to hide and escape during times of war.

In writing, students have also been creating interesting characters to build cavtivating narratives. We have been developing our description of our characters within our stories and taking them on journeys that engage readers and build suspense.
We have been explorng Smiling Minds this term where we have explored a range of topics around Mental Wellbeing. We have discussed topics such as self and social awareness and management and the strategies we can use to help us be more aware individual that show attention to ourselves, the people and world we live in.

As a class we have been practising our SWPBS classroom procedures, working on our morning and end of day routines. Here are our classroom poster expectations that we refer to help us improve being organised and indipendent learners.
Students have been researching different times, people and places within history. Students are exploring a range of different topics including; Japan, Olympics, Pyramids, WWII, Anne Frank, Evolution of Humans, Soviet Union, Medival times, Black Plague, The Space Race, Dinosaurs and Hockey. Students will be completing their final projects and putting on display at the end of the term!
