2026 Student Leadership Investiture Assembly

Today, St Patrick’s College Strathfield gathered as a community to witness the induction and investiture of the 2026 Student Leadership Team.

Families were also invited to share the occasion, joining staff and students in celebrating this important moment in the life of the College.

A highlight of the assembly was the tradition and symbolic act of parents presenting their sons with their leadership badges, marking the beginning of their formal service to the community.

Reflecting the College’s Catholic faith, a scripture reading from the prophet Micah emphasised the importance of servant leadership, reminding all present that true leadership is not about status or possessions, but about action, service, and love. For the new student leaders, and for the wider community, Micah’s call is clear:

  1. Do justice; it is a verb. You are called to restore the damage,

to work for the community, and to be relational.

  2. To love kindness; put kindness at the centre of your thoughts, your actions and your words.

  3. To walk humbly with your God; to be mindful, to be in readiness.

Building on this message, the newly appointed College Captain, Francesco Mazza, spoke with gratitude and conviction about the responsibility entrusted to him and his peers:

“While I may have received my badge today, this role is about far more than what’s pinned to my tie, it is about serving and representing our College community. It is about representing each of you with respect, honesty, and commitment.”

The College Captain will be supported by Vice Captains Marco Lo Russo and Ryan Scullion, as well as an outstanding group of leaders who will uphold the values and traditions of St Patrick’s College:
