Farewell to Barbeque Season – A Heartfelt Thank You to Our School Community

Last weekend marked the final barbeque for the season, and what a way to wrap it up! With the school proudly hosting the Football Semi Finals, the Parents’ and Friends’ Association stepped up once again to provide canteen facilities — albeit with limited help. Despite the challenge, the day was a great success thanks to the tireless efforts of a dedicated group of volunteers.

A huge and heartfelt thank you goes to Nicola and Michael Chatfield and Petrina and Ben Miliauskas, who generously staffed the canteen from start to finish. Your commitment and energy throughout the entire day did not go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the following parents who came along during the day to lend their support: Michael and Benjamin Saayman, Melham Elias, Irena Kelava, Raja Touma, Haezy Kim, and Tam Pham — thank you for stepping in and helping where needed.

A very special mention must go to our wonderful resident pastry chef, Gemma Donegan, who has generously made and donated all the sweets throughout the year. Your talents and kindness have added a special touch to every event.

Thank you also to Claire Hassan for the scrumptious muffins for Back to Breen, and to Tanya Maronese, Damian Bridge, Gabriella Costa, Nicole Ortado, Jeanette Biscotto, Jaslyn Hewitt Shehadie, Joanna Crisafulli, Caroline Chahin and Belinda Barakat for rallying together and helping out at the washed-out Back to Breen Barbeque.

We would also like to make a special mention of Lina Bartorilla and Lynette Trainor for their ongoing support and contributions throughout our barbeque season.

And finally, a BIG THANK YOU to every single person who has volunteered their time, baked, served, set up, packed down, or simply lent a helping hand this year. There are too many names to mention, but please know that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Our school community thrives because of people like you.

While barbeque season may be over, we still have two exciting events left on the calendar this year:

Celebration of the Students’ Major HSC Works

Mark your calendars for Wednesday evening, 3 September, when we celebrate the incredible achievements of our senior students and their HSC major works. It’s always an inspiring night and a true highlight of the school year. We will need volunteers from 3:00 PM to help prepare and serve supper—if you’re available, please contact Nicola Chatfield at parentsandfriends@spc.nsw.edu.au.

Father’s Day Morning Tea – Friday, 5 September

To honour all the wonderful fathers and father figures in our school community, we’ll be hosting a special Father’s Day Morning Tea at the Scientia Plaza from 8:45 AM. If you can assist with preparations or serving, we would love to hear from you. Again, please contact Nicola Chatfield at parentsandfriends@spc.nsw.edu.au.

Thank you in advance for your continued support—we truly could not do it without our amazing community.

With appreciation,

Your P&F Committee
