Year 1/2 News

Mapping

In Maths, we have been exploring directional language to be able to give and follow directions. We have programmed Beebots to get from Point A to B and have even practiced drawing birds eye view maps on grid paper.

Information Reports

In Literacy, we are beginning a new unit on information reports, using the mentor text; Dingo, by Claire Saxby to explore subject specific vocabulary. We are reading non-fiction texts to learn about the features authors use, such as sub-headings and labels and are beginning to learn how to research online to find specific information to use this to support our own writing. 

Welcome Georgia!

We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Georgia, who will be in 1/2B over the next three weeks as she completes her placement round. Georgia is a student teacher from Deakin University and is in her third year. She will be planning and teaching lessons in 1/2B over the coming weeks. We know she will love her time at LCS.
