From The Team

There’s never a quiet week at Scoresby Primary School! We are always busy learning and taking part in fun activities. Over the past two weeks we have moved out of our classrooms in preparation for new paint, carpets and windows, participated in District Athletics, celebrated our maths learning with an Open Morning, and enjoyed Scoresby Superstar sessions for Father’s Day and Child Protection Week.

A huge thank you to all our 3/4 students for the calm and mature way they managed the classroom move.  3/4H have settled into the Collaborative Space, keeping the chickens company, whilst 3/4F have set up in the library. We have had no shortage of helpers, and everyone has adapted to the changes with a positive attitude.

Last Friday, a group of Year 3/4 students braved the cold and headed to District Athletics alongside some of the 5/6s. It was inspiring to see every student give their best effort in their events, while also showing encouragement and support for one another. We returned to school tired but proud, carrying home a wonderful selection of ribbons. Congratulations to all those who took part!

This week we celebrated our maths learning with an Open Morning on Tuesday. Thank you to all the parents and special friends who came along to see us playing fun and engaging maths games. We always love sharing our learning with you!

We have also been busy preparing for Father’s Day, with a Scoresby Superstars session making thoughtful colourings and crafts, a very special Breakfast Club, and the chance to choose gifts at the Father’s Day Stall. We wish all fathers and male role models a very happy Father’s Day on Sunday.

Finally, don’t forget to sign up for the Girls' Cricket Clinic running after school on Tuesday October 14th, 21st, 28th and November 11th. This is a wonderful opportunity for girls to develop their cricket skills while having fun with friends. Please see the attached flyer for more details; you will need to register using the QR code on the attached flyer.

What We Are Learning

Reminders

  • Reading Logs: These are due back at school each Friday. Daily reading is essential for your child’s development. Please help by reminding them regularly.

  • Homework: Homework is due every second Friday. This term, we ask for your support in encouraging your child to complete and return their homework by the due date. The tasks are designed to reinforce skills taught in class and help students retain new knowledge.

  • Design Learning: We will shortly be starting our Design Learning and would love donations of cardboard boxes, tubes and other clean recyclable materials to help bring our creations to life.
