Term 3 has been a memorable one for Senior School, filled with experiences that brought our students together, challenged them in new ways, and highlighted just how much they have achieved. From whole-school events like Book Week to camps, work experience, and special programs, our senior students have shown enthusiasm, leadership, and a strong sense of community.

Book Week was a highlight, with the year 12 students running the BBQ and the whole school coming together for trivia. Year 10 proudly took out the win, with Years 11 and 12 tying for second place.

Our Year 12 students had an unforgettable camp at the Big4 in Anglesea. Beyond the surfing lessons, chocolate factory visit, shopping, dinner at the Anglesea Hotel, and a walk to the Aireys Inlet lighthouse, the camp was really about connection. Students bonded as a group, supporting one another and making lasting memories in their final year together. They also led their Personal Development project, the much-loved Teddy Bear Picnic, which raised funds and awareness for healthcare initiatives. Thank you to all the students and families who supported the day and helped make it such a success.

The Year 11s upheld their own tradition through their Personal Development project, hosting the annual School Dance. The evening was a huge success, with students celebrating together while raising money to refurbish the gazebo into a serene space for the whole school community. We are grateful to the students for their efforts in organising the night, and to the community for their generous support and donations.

The Year 10s have been especially busy, engaging in incursions such as the Cohealth Smoking and Vaping program and the Teens and Screens workshop, as well as helping to organise Wear It Purple Day. A special highlight was when Charlie shared his Media video at assembly, showing his creativity and talent. Across senior school, students also completed RSA training and participated in our final Project4Hope workshop, both of which gave them valuable knowledge and real-world skills. We also held a VET Information Night for Year 9 and 10 students transitioning into Year 10 and 11 in 2026, giving families and students a chance to learn more about VCE VM, VPC, and VET pathways.

Just over 80% of our Year 11 and 12 students completed work experience placements this term, and it was inspiring to see them flourish in such a wide range of industries. A huge thank you must go to Marie, who works tirelessly to organise, support, and check in with every student to ensure they are set up for success. She goes above and beyond to cater to students’ individual interests, helping them gain experience that connects to their passions and sets them up for the future. We are so grateful for her dedication!

Inside the classroom, students have been just as busy:

Year 11 & 12:

In Literacy, the focus was on advocacy, with students delivering confident and passionate oral presentations. We also celebrated creativity, with Joseph, Dylaina, and Yacob named as winners of the Creative Writing competition. In Numeracy, students tackled civic issues, designing surveys, collecting data, and presenting their findings in well-crafted PowerPoints. Alongside this, students have been deeply engaged in their Personal Development projects - planning, organising, running, and reflecting on events that not only built their leadership and teamwork skills but also made a meaningful contribution to our school community.

Year 10:

There has been plenty happening across their core subjects. In Maths, they explored Measurement and Geometry, while in English they focused on persuasive texts and studied Twelve Angry Men. In Media, students developed their own interview questions and filmed conversations with staff members - I was honoured to be a part of two interviews myself! Food Tech has also been a highlight, with Deb, Ava, and Chris leading engaging sessions where students have been having the best time learning new skills in the kitchen.

To ensure student voice continues to guide our school’s direction, we also filmed interviews with students this term to prepare for our School Review in Term 4.

This term, we welcomed Massimo into Year 10 Maths and we're delighted to have Tynan join us in Year 11 Numeracy. A special thank you must go to the Senior School staff, whose commitment and hard work have made this term such a success. To our students, we are incredibly proud of the way you have embraced every opportunity and supported one another.

Looking ahead, Term 4 brings even more exciting opportunities as we step into our School Review and continue to prepare our senior students for the future. It will also be a bittersweet term as we farewell our Year 12s. This group has given so much to the school community, showing leadership, resilience, and care for those around them. We look forward to celebrating their achievements and sending them off with pride.
