Secondary School

Book Week!

This week we celebrated Book Week and we thank Ms Couper for all of her efforts to help organise a range of activities throughout the week. The Book Week costumes on Tuesday was definitely a highlight of the week. It was great to see so many students getting involved in the day. It makes for a wonderful culture around the school, one of inclusion and celebrating creativity.

Year Eleven Leadership

Our Year Eleven Leadership process is underway, with a large number of students nominating themselves to serve others next year. Students have provided a vision statement for what they want to achieve if given the position of leadership and a statement of attainment, outlining their achievements and learning on the journey so far. Our wider study body and our staff are now able to show expressions of support for our Year Eleven students and from there, Staff Leaders will use that data to help inform decisions on the student leadership team of next year. We have also been canvassing the opinions of current Year Twelve leaders regarding their experience of school leadership and anything they would like to see in the future. We wish all our Year Eleven nominees the best of luck.

Upcoming Sport Carnivals – Hockey and Basketball

We have two upcoming sports carnivals for our Secondary School students. We have recently run trials for our Year Seven and Eight students to see who gets to represent the school in an upcoming GSSSSA Hockey carnival.  This week, we ran trials with Years Nine and Ten students for an upcoming basketball carnival.

Mid-term break

We look forward to the mid-term break, a chance to recharge our batteries, especially for our Boarding students who get to return home for the weekend. Upon our return from the mid-term break our Year Ten students spend time away from campus for Work Experience and we start to finalise the subject selections and course offerings for next year. Our Year Twelve students round the stretch and head towards Semester Two examinations.

I wish all our families a restful weekend and look forward to seeing our students refreshed and ready for Week Six.
