Mina san, konnichiwa! Genki desu ka?
Our Nihongo classroom has been buzzing with excitement since our unit of work on the Olympic Games in Term 3. Students were immersed in a variety of fun games such as Jankenpon, the Gyoza Race, the Daruma relay and Tamago to supūn no rēsu. Students thrived in the spirit of friendly competition and supported each other by chanting GANBATTE (You can do it!), YATTA (Yes, I did it!) or ZANNEN (Better luck next time).
We recently celebrated TANABATA (the Star Festival), by writing wishes on colourful paper and hanging them on bamboo plants. This made for a stunning centrepiece when the Nihongo Classroom was opened for the art exhibition. To further develop their vocabulary, students also enjoyed creating Tanabata matching cards and playing card games. It was an absolute delight to watch the students engaged, working together, sharing, taking turns and using the language to enhance their understanding of Nihongo. Otsukaresama deshita! (Thank you for your hard work).
