Remembrance Day

On Monday, November 11, the Preps participated in their first Remembrance Day ceremony. In preparation, we made poppies and talked about their significance. I was very proud of the respect that the students demonstrated throughout the ceremony and their thoughtful comments during our class discussions. Thank you to Miss Black and our school captains for organising such a respectful service.

English

In Writing, we have been focusing on narratives. Students have created their own stories including a beginning, middle and end. 

In Reading, students have been focusing on questions about the book they're reading and literal comprehension skills. This means students can find the answer to the questions directly from the text.

Maths

In Maths, we have revisited Addition strategies. Students have practised counting on from the larger number and used 'doubles' as a strategies to count collections more efficiently.

Important Dates:

• Monday 2nd December - Friday 13th December: Prep to Grade 2 Swimming at Eltham Leisure Centre (more information will be sent out prior to starting)
• Thursday 5 December - ACPS Christmas Carols
• Friday 20th December: Last Day of 2024
