Writing
In Term 4, Year One students will explore the exciting world of poetry and procedural texts. We will focus on crafting imaginative poems that use descriptive language to create vivid imagery, encouraging learners to engage their senses and experiment with different words to express their ideas. Students will learn how to describe objects, characters, and settings in unique and creative ways, using adjectives to bring their poetry to life.
In the second half of the term, students will shift their focus to procedural texts. They will learn how to write clear and logical step-by-step instructions, organising information so that it is easy to follow. We’ll explore examples of procedural texts, such as recipes, instructions, and how-to guides, helping students understand how to structure their writing effectively.
