On Friday, the 25th, LPPS took a special moment to celebrate the remarkable work our teachers do every day!
Thanks to the generous contributions from our families, we were able to treat our dedicated teachers to an array of hot drinks and scrumptious treats. This gesture served as a small but heartfelt token of our appreciation for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to our students.
In addition to these delights, our teachers were pleasantly surprised with a selection of delightful cakes, graciously provided by local MP Paul Mercurio. The treats were such a hit that we can confidently say there were absolutely no leftovers!
This event not only highlighted the hard work of our educators but also fostered a sense of community and gratitude within our school. We are truly thankful for our amazing teachers and the positive impact they have on our students' lives!
Last Friday 25/10/2024, the Year 1 cohort journeyed into the Melbourne Zoo.
What started off as a rainy day, ended with tons of sunshine and loads of fun. The Year 1 students, teachers and parents enjoyed seeing many animals that are currently featured in our Writing and Inquiry learning - from seal training and monkey play to elephant grooming, the large group of enthusiastic students enjoyed the day very much. The bus ride home was a quiet affair with lots of tired legs!
A big thank you to our parent volunteers for their support and to the staff for organising such a memorable trip.
On Thursday 31st, our Foundation students embarked on an exciting excursion to Dinosaur World in Tyabb, and what a day it was!
After a quick bus ride, the students arrived at Dinosaur World, where they were greeted by life-sized dinosaur replicas that left them in awe.
Once inside, the children split into small groups, each led by educators who guided them through various interactive exhibits. They learned fascinating facts about different dinosaur species, their habitats, and even how palaeontologists uncover ancient fossils.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the fossil digging activity, where students got hands-on experience unearthing “dinosaur bones” from the sand—a perfect blend of fun and learning!
The excursion not only provided a fantastic learning experience but also allowed the children to bond with their classmates and create lasting memories.
We are so proud of our Prep students for their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. This excursion was truly a roarsome adventure, and we can't wait for more exciting outings in the future!
