Principal's Report

We are well underway with our workforce and strategic planning for 2025. There are a number of components to this planning. They include:
- Student enrolments
- Staffing arrangements and whole school timetabling
- Class Lists
- Friendship requests
- Whole School Strategic Planning (2025 Annual Implementation Plan)
- Whole School Budgets
A huge amount of work is undertaken in all of these areas. Our absolute intent is to provide the highest quality learning environment for all students at Langwarrin Park Primary School. As we move further into Term 4, I will be able to provide you with more detailed insights for these components.
If I can please provide another reminder to all parents and carers, that if your child won't be attending Langwarrin Park Primary School next year, to please contact the school office at your earliest convenience. Student enrolments directly impacts our whole school staffing budget, so it is vitally important I am working with the most accurate enrolment numbers.
Monday and Tuesday Student Attendance (4th and 5th November)
I emailed to all parents on Friday (1st November), a Google form I need completed, which informs us whether your child will be at school on Monday 4th November. We will be running a modified whole school timetable on Monday, because we will be having a number of staff absent due to Time In Lieu.
And just a reminder that on Tuesday, it is a statewide Melbourne Cup Public Holiday.
2025 Transition Program
It was lovely to welcome our 2025 Foundation families for their second transition session earlier this week.
Our whole school transition program is an important aspect to our student wellbeing program. Giving all our students the best possible chance as they transition into our school, moving in between year levels and then onto secondary school is so important.
On Tuesday 10th December will be our whole school 'Up Day'. On this day all our students will spend the morning in their new classes and hopefully their new teacher as well. This will be a great way for all students and teachers to establish a positive relationship with each other and set the scene for 2025. Also, on this day our Grade 6 students will be attending their secondary schools (government schools only).
Rubbish in the Yard
Having school pride is hugely important. One of the reasons we have a school uniform, is so students feel more closely connected with the school they attend. Another way we can all show we care about our school is how we maintain our playgrounds. Recently, the amount of rubbish in the playground has been disappointing. We have plenty of bins out in the playground and there is no excuse for rubbish not being put in a bin.
I encourage all parents and carers to please consider carefully what is put is into your child's lunch box each day. Please try and reduce the amount of wrappers that come to school each day.
Citizenship is one of our school values and one simple way we can demonstrate this is by taking pride in how our playgrounds look.
Take care everyone.
Richard
