Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Class of 2023 - 1 Year Reunion. I have always especially enjoyed attending reunions for our newest Shelfordians, as it is both exciting and satisfying to hear their stories of travel adventures, work, study, moving out of home and the Shelford friendship and memories that have thrived in the first 12 months, since graduating from Shelford. This year’s reunion was even more poignant, as our Shelfordians reflected thoughtfully and sensitively about their time at Shelford and how much they now realise and appreciate the experiences, opportunities and most importantly the community of people who supported them. It is these very elements that have prepared them well for life beyond Shelford. I am confident that our current Shelford students have spent this year reflecting on and appreciating the same critical elements that will also see them thrive as they prepare to move to their lives beyond Shelford.

As you have no doubt read in our newsletters throughout out the year as well as on our socials, 2024 has been a year marked by several events to both celebrate Shelford and all who have been part of our story over the past 126 years. Our upcoming Presentation Evening on Wednesday 20 November will be the final public celebration of Shelford. As always, we will honour our Year 12s but in addition, we will also celebrate and present all current Shelford students. We have a very special program planned, for our final ever Shelford Presentation Evening. If you have not yet secured your tickets, please do so without delay, we are hoping to have a full auditorium on the evening.

As we move into our final weeks of Term 4, I wish all students all the best as they navigate, assessments, examinations, transition activities and their final days at Shelford Girls’ Grammar.

All the best for the remainder of the term.
