World Teachers'/ES Day
All staff at Bittern PS are teachers in their own right. Teachers have the greatest in-school impact on the learning lives of our students. They should be celebrated and recognised every day, especially on World Teachers’ Day, for the incredible role they play in shaping the future of our students.
Last week we celebrated our hard working staff with the slogan 'Hats off To Teachers'. We wore our colourful hats and threw in the air to demonstrate our gratitude to our fabulous teachers. A lovely morning tea with some messages of gratitude was shared with our staff.

Capital Works Update
It is with great pleasure that I announce to you that the building component of our Capital Works Project is complete. The old library building, now known as a Flexible Learning Space (FLS) is finished. The outside learning deck is complete and the landscaping is near completion. These spaces are shaping up to be very inclusive, engaging and vibrant areas for a variety of teaching and learning programs. We are waiting for a certificate of occupancy before we can commence relocating furniture and resources into the FLS and the 2 classrooms (MOD 5 building).
Working Bee
A working bee is scheduled for Friday November 29th. The aim of this working bee will be to tidy up the gardens in and around the courtyard area and the senior playground. It will be great to have this area looking better in preparation for our school concert on December 5th. We encourage as many families as possible to attend. More details will be provided through Newsfeed on Compass.
Portsea Camp
It was with great pleasure that I attended the
Portsea Camp last week. Our Grade 3- 6 students had a sensational time over the 3 days. The children had the opportunity to engage in many 'challenge by choice' activities such as the Giant Swing, High ropes and Flying Fox with many student accepting the challenge. I witnessed many acts of bravery, determination and resilience over the 3 days. A huge thank you to the staff who attended and worked tirelessly to support every student to enjoy and gain positive experiences at the Portsea Camp.
Please refer to the middle and senior school pages of this newsletter for camp highlights and more photos.
Curriculum Day - November 4th
Just a reminder that there our curriculum day is on Monday November 4th. This is the day before cup day so we trust you will enjoy a long weekend. We look forward to seeing students back on Wednesday 6th November.
