Primary Student Wellbeing 2024

Assistant Head of Primary-Wellbeing | Mrs Christine Clark

This year, in primary school, we have continued to prioritise student wellbeing as a key focus. Students from Pre-Primary to Year 4 participate in weekly wellbeing lessons that emphasise resilience, perseverance, confidence, organisation, and social skills. For upper primary students, wellbeing outcomes are integrated into health lessons and weekly check-ins. To support students throughout the day, all classes have wellbeing passes available for those feeling overwhelmed or worried.

Our Year 6 student councillors each took on the 'wellbeing portfolio' for a term this year, organising activities and competitions aimed at fostering positive relationships across year levels, boosting morale, and creating opportunities for fun.

Student mental health and overall wellbeing remain of utmost importance to us. Throughout the year, we’ve hosted a variety of activities to nurture this, including Wellbeing Wednesdays, House Spirit Mornings, EPS Reward Days, Student Shout-Outs, Dress-Up Days, and visits from guest speakers and presenters.

These initiatives have been warmly embraced across the primary school, and it brings us great pride to see the positive impact they have on our students. Supporting the development of well-rounded individuals with a strong sense of wellbeing is a responsibility we hold close to our hearts.
