Dear Families,
Last Friday was World Teachers' Day. Whilst I appreciate the hard work done by all members of staff at St Therese's, it was time to celebrate our teaching staff. I took some time to talk to the children about their teachers and what they would like to say thank you for. The messages in our special World Teachers' Day video came from the children, I certainly didn't need to prompt them. To hear that the students know they have kind teachers who help them learn, who extend their thinking and who make the children smile was wonderful. If you didn't see the video on our social media, please take a few moments to watch it. I have also attached the message from the Director of our Diocese, Paul Velten. Our teachers do go above and beyond for the students, they deserve to be celebrated.
We also had the pleasure of holding our first Orientation session for next year's Foundation students. The staff room was buzzing with chat as existing families introduced themselves to those new to the school and the Foundation classroom was a hive of activity as the youngest members of our community got to know each other and the staff members who will be their teachers next year.
I am pleased to share that Maddie Hastings and Malini Tyne will once again form our Foundation teaching team next year. I know that this will raise the question as to which year level the remaining teachers will be in for 2025. This is very much a work in progress and will be shared with you in due course.
You can keep up to date with events at the school on both our social media pages:
Have a great week and enjoy the long weekend!
