Principal's message
Sunday’s gospel reminds us that we are all wealthy in some way, e.g. good health, happy relationships, having enough food to eat.
The rich man had asked Jesus, 'What must I do?' Jesus told the man to sell all that he had and give it to the
poor. Perhaps he wanted the man to separate himself from his possessions. Perhaps he was also asking the
man to think, not of what he had not done but to think of what he could do for others. He was a man of considerable wealth. How could he use his wealth to benefit others?
How might you use your gifts to help others?
Spend a moment to thank God for your ‘wealth’.
Dear Parents
Our first week of Term 4 was wonderful. Our students have adjusted back to their school routines after the holidays (and daylight savings) beautifully- visitors to our school have noticed and commented on how settled our students are and engaged in their learning.
Trivia Night and MEGA Raffle- This week we have our school Trivia Night. It sounds like it will be lots of fun and a great opportunity to have a night out with friends, meet new people and support our school community. Tickets for the Trivia Night and MEGA raffle can be purchase via https://www.trybooking.com/CVIXE
Divisional Athletics Day- Last Friday, we had over 40 students participate in the Divisional Athletics Day at Appin Park. They proudly represented themselves and school. From this day, 21 of our students have qualified for the next round which is the Regional Athletics Day in Albury this Friday. We wish them all the very best. Thank you to Gerard Nolan, Kate Bell, Janelle Gambold, Michelle Evans, Sam Nolan and Stacey Lamb for your preparations for and attending and supporting our students with these events.
Artwork at the Wangaratta Show- If you visited the Wangaratta Show, I hope you got to see the Art Work on display by some of our students. Thank you to our Visual Arts teacher Tania Sutherland for setting up our display for those attending the show to see.
Swimming- Our swimming programs have begun with our Foundation and Grade One and Two children swimming over the next two weeks. This is an important part of our Physical Education Program, and includes a focus on water safety as well as learning swimming skills. The Junior children are swimming at Moore than Swimming whilst our Grades 3-6 will be swimming at the Wangaratta Sports and Aquatic Centre later this term. I thank all the parents who have offered their assistance with the supervision of students during the program.
Hats- We remind children to wear their school hats at all times when outdoors in Term 4. If children forget their hats then they play under the covered area in front of our Art Room.. Please label hats clearly!
Have a great week,
Kate Bevan.
