Week 9

Preps worked with a partner to identify properties of explored materials. 

1/2s designed a toy by sketching this in their STEM books and labelling the materials of their designs.

3/4s and 5/6s completed some coding tasks on Scratch.  

Week 10 

Preps explored clothing to wear in different seasons.

1/2s made predictions about what would happen when they poured vinegar into a cup of baking soda.

3/4s looked at the recycling process for aluminium cans.

5/6s had an engineering challenge, where they used icy pole sticks, a skewer and masking tape to work together in small groups to build a working Ferris wheel.

In The Artroom

This week in the Artroom students focused on creating artworks using their free choice of art mediums. They could paint, draw, colour, sculpt, model and trace.

The Coleraine Art and Photography show is coming around fast. If you are interested in creating a piece of artwork for the show and would like an entry form, Ms Brown will be having a meeting at lunchtime on Tuesday – listen for the announcement.
