Ignatius Meditation
Our faction, Ignatius, is named after St. Ignatius of Loyola, a brave and thoughtful man who lived in Spain over 500 years ago.
St. Ignatius taught a special way to pray called Ignatian meditation. Instead of just saying words, he invited people to use their imagination. You could imagine being in a Bible story - like walking with Jesus, hearing the waves on the Sea of Galilee, or sitting with the disciples. This helps people feel like they are really there, and it makes the stories come alive.
After imagining the story, people think about how it made them feel and what God might be saying to them through it. St. Ignatius believed that God speaks to us through our thoughts and feelings. This kind of prayer helps people grow in kindness, love, and understanding. That’s why our faction is proud to carry his name—we try to follow his example of courage, reflection, and faith.
