What's Happening At Milgate!
To provide a dynamic, inclusive learning environment that challenges students to become inquirers, thinkers and caring young people who are able to interact in the global society with respect and intercultural understanding
Milgate Primary School would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land of the Wurundjeri People, and we would like to pay our respects to the elders both past and present. Staff, students and the school community understand that we thrive, learn and live on Wurundjeri Country and we stand with all cultures united as one.
2nd July- 5pm-6.30pm - Celebration of Learning
4th July - Last Day of School for the term - Students finish at 2.30pm
1 August - No students at school today as it will be Parent Teacher Interviews.
Today, we welcomed grandparents and special friends to Milgate for a morning of classroom visits and student learning. Guests had the opportunity to see what students have been working on, take part in classroom activities, and spend time in the school environment. To finish the morning, students and their visitors enjoyed a picnic snack together in the courtyard. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
Student reports will be released on Wednesday 3rd July. Each report includes your child’s progression points for each subject, showing their achievement against the Victorian Curriculum. You will also find a personal and social comment, along with teacher feedback on your child’s behaviour and effort. This year, we will also be providing a description of what each level of effort and behaviour represents to support your understanding.
In addition, specialist teachers have provided comments outlining your child’s progress in their respective subjects.
As a reminder, we use a Continuous Reporting approach at Milgate. Please take the time to view your child’s Seesaw journal, where you’ll find regular updates on their learning and progress in Maths, Literacy, and the Unit of Inquiry throughout the term.
Parents / guardians: Do you have a primary school-aged child experiencing symptoms of anxiety?
Clinicians at Swinburne University have developed a program to help parents manage childhood anxiety in children aged 6-11 years.
