School Musical Update – End of Term 2

It's been wonderful to see how excited and enthusiastic students are about our upcoming school musical! Their energy is infectious — I hear singing and see dance moves happening all over the playground.

This Term’s Focus:

• Learning all show content: songs, dances, and dialogue.
• Each class has rehearsed their ensemble numbers and the finale during Performing Arts lessons — progress has been fantastic!
• Students with speaking roles have been rehearsing scenes during lunchtimes, and these rehearsals will continue into Term 3.

Next Steps:

• Holiday Practice: Cast members and understudies should keep practising lines at home — aim to be off-script by the end of Term 3.
• Resources for Practice:
  • Years 3–6: Audio tracks and videos available on Google Classroom.
  • Foundation–Year 2: I’m looking into how to share these resources with you soon.
  • Optional for ensemble students, but lovely to see the extra enthusiasm!

Looking Ahead:

• Poster competition and potential fundraising activities will be explored with our student leaders.
• Costume and prop needs will be assessed during Term 3.
• Costume information will go home towards the end of Term 3.
• Ticketing and event details will be shared at the start of Term 4.
