Dear students, families and staff of Cheltenham Primary School,
The Cheltenham Primary School Trivia Night was a resounding success - both as a memorable social evening and a highly effective fundraiser. Raising close to $15,000 is no small feat and speaks volumes about the incredible spirit and generosity within our school community.
Thank you to Sam G, for project managing the event, the PTFA committee, Michael Neal as MC and our School Office staff for your collective work in bringing the night together so seamlessly. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event.
Lastly, a big thank you to the local businesses and generous individuals who contributed to the success of the night. Your donations and sponsorship helped make a real difference, and we are truly grateful for your support.
Please read the Trivia Night "wrap up" in today's newsletter and review the Term 3 PTFA Calendar of Events.
We are delighted to welcome Junior family and friends to our Junior STEAM Expo tomorrow. It promises to be both engaging and educational, with a focus on environmental awareness and creativity.
Our Foundation students will proudly present their Sun Smart hats, designed with care and consideration for sun safety. Meanwhile, Year 1 and 2 students have constructed bug hotels to provide inviting habitats for our local insects! We look forward to your visit and to sharing the wonderful work of our students.
Location: Junior School and Foundation Classrooms 8.30am-9.15am Wednesday, 2 July.
Semester 1 Student Reports
Semester 1 Student Reports can be accessed through the Compass platform after 3pm tomorrow. Our Foundation students will be given hard copy reports to celebrate this very important event in their school life.
I extend my appreciation to our teachers for the time, effort, and careful thought they have invested into capturing each child's progress, strengths, and areas for growth. I commend all on their clear feedback to students and parents, and commitment to nurturing every learner’s potential academically, socially and emotionally and physically.
Synthetic Turf Installation Update
Work on the synthetic turf has been delayed due to recent wet weather conditions (see also Compass Notification 24 June). The contractors are currently waiting for the ground to fully dry before proceeding, as the base must be completely dry to avoid the risk of depressions forming during installation.
The site was assessed on Monday, and the contractors will return to reassess conditions tomorrow. Unfortunately, the continued rain has slowed progress. However, they have advised that—weather permitting—the installation will be completed over the upcoming holiday period.
In addition, the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) has postponed the regrassing of the defective areas of the oval until the synthetic turf is installed. This is to ensure students have a suitable and safe area to play once school resumes. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward improving our school grounds.
Cyclic Maintenance
Recently all the exterior doors to the Senior building were repaired and repainted as required. The tanbark beneath the Junior and Middle playground equipment has been replenished for safety. Over the school holiday period the cracked concrete slab on the stairwell to the Performing Arts room will also be replaced.
