Leah selected for the Future Health Leaders Program

Year 11 student, Leah has been selected to participate in the prestigious 2025 Future Health Leaders Program, an initiative of Research Australia and AbbVie.

This national program is designed to inspire and equip young women to pursue careers in health and medical research, innovation, and the life sciences. Leah is one of only twelve students from across the country chosen for this unique opportunity.

As part of the program, Leah will travel to Canberra on 26 August 26 to take part in an inspiring immersion experience at Parliament House and the CSIRO Black Mountain Science and Innovation Park. There, she will:

  • Explore the wide range of career pathways in the health and medical research sectors
  • Gain hands-on experience in world-class scientific facilities
  • Connect with leading female professionals across research, education, clinical practice, industry, and government
  • Be mentored and encouraged in her passion for science and innovation

Leah’s application stood out among many; we are incredibly proud of her achievement. Her selection is not only a recognition of her academic excellence and passion for science but also a wonderful reflection of the Emmaus Christian College spirit — seeking to serve and lead in ways that bring hope and healing to the world.

Please join us in congratulating Leah on this outstanding accomplishment. We look forward to seeing where this exciting opportunity leads her!
