Child Safety at Moama Anglican Grammar

Child Safe Standard 5 – Building a culture that puts trust into practice.

At Moama Anglican Grammar, we are committed to creating an environment where students feel safe, respected and supported. Child Safe Standard 5 highlights the importance of ensuring that all staff working with children are not only suitable but also well-supported in their roles. When students trust the adults around them, they are more likely to speak up, seek help and thrive. We take this responsibility seriously by providing ongoing staff training that fosters a culture of prioritising student wellbeing and safety.

Standard 5: People working with children are suitable and supported.

Some of the ways we meet this standard are:

  • Staff receive annual and ongoing training and information about the NSW Child Safe Standards and Child Safe practices.
  • As well as Working With Children Checks (WWCC), the recruitment process includes Child Safe questions as part of both candidate interviews and referee checks.
  • Position descriptions include Child Safe details.
  • Volunteers complete an induction that includes Child Safe information/training.
  • Staff, families and the community are aware of our Child Safe human resources practices.
  • Detailed record keeping is maintained verifying all staff WWCCs.
  • Staff have suitable skills and experience to work with children.
  • Staff values align with our School’s commitment to child safety.

The NSW Child Safe Standards were established to help schools go beyond compliance and actively prioritise the safety and wellbeing of all students. At Moama Anglican Grammar, we take this responsibility with the utmost seriousness. Ensuring a safe, supportive environment for every student remains our highest priority.

If you have any queries about child safety at our school, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of our Executive Team.
