Primary School

We welcomed the team from LifeChanger this week who facilitated a workshop with our Year 6 students as they continue to work through the Life Changing Journey Program: exploring emotions, resilience, strengths and meaningful connections. This week our students focused on Embracing Change and Bouncing Forward, a workshop that aims to assist students in their preparation for transitioning to high school, while also promoting acceptance of change in other areas of their lives.
Students worked with Ryan, Noah, Liv and Emily to learn how to develop their self-confidence, self-belief and ability to seek help when needed. Building resilience and empowerment were the essential outcomes of this workshop and we are sure our students have a greater understanding of practical strategies that they can use to help them stay grounded during times of uncertainty.
We look forward to having the LifeChanger team back in Term 3 where they will focus on ‘Discovering your Superpowers - unleashing your values and strength’.
“On Monday, we participated in the LifeChanger Program. Ryan and Liv were our instructors, and we all had a great time. We explored different types of strengths and skills, learned how to develop new ones, and discovered ways to share them with others. One of the highlights was a game called Survival Island, where we worked in teams and had to use our strengths and teamwork to get off the island. We all had an amazing time and can't wait to do it again next term!”

Interschool Footy Gala
“On Tuesday, the Year 5 and 6 boys competed in the annual Interschool Footy Gala. It was a cold day, but spirits were high. The A-team finished third overall, winning four games before being beaten by St Mary’s in the preliminary final. The B-team managed one win and played well throughout the day. They were also knocked out in their preliminary final against 208, finishing fourth overall. It was a great day, and we can’t wait to compete again next year!”

Year 4 Bridge Project
This term in Year 4, students have been immersed in an exciting hands-on Maths project: the Bridge Project! Working in small groups, students took on the challenge of designing and building model bridges using ‘Knex’ that demonstrated their understanding of key mathematical concepts including angles, 2D and 3D shapes, symmetry, stability, strength and costing.
The project fostered fantastic teamwork, with students collaborating to solve design problems, share ideas, and bring their visions to life. Throughout the process, they showed creativity, resilience and persistence, particularly when faced with construction setbacks or the need to rework ideas to improve strength and stability.
The project culminated in a Bridge Showcase on Thursday where students proudly displayed their work to visitors from Kindergarten to Year 6. They explained their design choices and the construction process in detail and responded confidently to thoughtful questions and feedback from their peers. It was a wonderful celebration of learning, design thinking, and mathematical application in the real world!
E-sports Minecraft Education Co-Curricular Program
Celebrating our first-ever entry in the AEL Minecraft Schools Competition! We are incredibly proud to announce that a group of enthusiastic students from Years 4, 5 and 6 recently took part in the 2025 AEL Minecraft Schools Competition over Term 1 and 2. This marked our school’s first-ever involvement in this national event, which brought together young builders and storytellers from across the country.
The theme for the Years 4–6 division was ‘Australia’s Dreaming’, and our students worked in dedicated teams to create immersive, interactive Minecraft builds inspired by Aboriginal dreaming stories. They showcased thoughtful storytelling, creative design and excellent collaboration throughout the process. While we did not place in the top positions this time, our students should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Each team demonstrated outstanding teamwork, commitment and imaginative thinking. It was inspiring to see their projects come to life as they applied their research, digital design skills and creativity in such meaningful ways.
The competition provided a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in digital technology, storytelling, problem solving and cultural understanding, all in a fun, hands-on learning environment. We are already looking forward to participating again in the future and building on this amazing first experience. A huge congratulations to all students involved. You represented our school with pride and your hard work did not go unnoticed!
Primary Assembly
On Friday 20 June, the Primary School community connected at the Primary Assembly. I would like to congratulate Cleo Haw, Chanter Hour Captain and Eli Teasdale-Dohnt, Perricoota House Captain for confidently running the Assembly.
We enjoyed beautiful performances from Sophie Frazer on piano, the Year 4A and 4B Supergroups, incorporating violin, recorder, desk bells and percussion instruments which are taught as part of the Year 4 Music Performance curriculum, and Georgia McIntosh and Lily Wildes who sang ‘Next Thing you Know’ with Georgia playing along on her guitar.
We heard from Elsie and Shriya in Year 5 who shared their experience from the recent Interschool Netball Tournament and Lily Wildes and Bruce Bensch who talked about their involvement in the NSW Space Discovery Program. Bruce was able to give an insight into his experience at the showcase in Sydney and Lily was able to provide her perspective of joining the showcase from school via Zoom. Mr Ward shared some highlights from the E-Sports Minecraft Education Co-Curricular Program.
We welcomed Tim Dawes and Kerry Collins from Kiwanis to hand out the Terrific Kids Award for Term 2. Classroom teachers and specialist teachers each select one student in their class who consistently displays the ‘TERRIFIC Characteristics’ of being thoughtful, enthusiastic, respectful, responsible, inclusive, friendly, inquisitive and capable.

Stage 1 Assembly
At the Stage 1 Assembly on Wednesday 25 June, 2A confidently hosted and shared their recent learning in Writing. They explained that they had been exploring onomatopoeia through the engaging mentor text 'Showdown Symphony. Several students proudly read aloud their creative stories, each beginning with sound words like “Bang!”, “Crash!” and “Splash!” to hook the audience. Their expressive reading and imaginative use of language captivated listeners and demonstrated their growing understanding of how sound words can bring writing to life. The assembly was a fantastic opportunity for 2A to showcase their enthusiasm and creativity as writers.
Congratulations to the students below who received their Stage 1 Super Star Award at the Assembly.

Primary Semester 1 Reports
The Semester 1 individual student reports have been published. Parents can view their child’s individual report by logging into their SEQTA Engage Portal. If you experience difficulties, accessing SEQTA Engage, please contact our IT help desk at help@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au. Our IT staff will happily assist you with this process.
Message from the Office
As we are nearing the end of Term, we have many uniform items in lost property without student names on them, making it difficult to reunite these with their rightful owners. Labelling uniform items and regularly checking your child’s uniform to make sure they are wearing their own uniform will support the return of items to the rightful owner. If your child is missing anything, please encourage them to visit our lost property in the Primary School Office.
