From the Principal

Celebrating Term 2

As we approach the commencement of the mid-year break, I reflect with considerable pride on all that has been done and achieved by our staff team across the life of our school this term and semester.

The beating heart of our school is our students and families however, it is our dedicated and highly committed staff team that supports and enables our students to grow, learn, and pursue their personal bests across the scope of their academic, pastoral, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.

I take this opportunity to publicly acknowledge and thank our staff team for all of their seen and unseen work to support our students to be the best versions of themselves both at school and beyond.

Throughout the course of Term 2 we have introduced a variety of innovative programs which provide access to learning experiences tailored to diverse student passions and interests. Programs such as the NSW Space Discovery Program, our Minecraft e-Sports Challenge and our UPSTAGE Co-Curricular Dance Program to name a few.

As Principal, there are daily events and encounters that make me smile and which provide tangible evidence of student growth and achievement. Our 2025 Young Performers Concert, which was held on Monday 16 June, is one such example. It was a privilege to observe over one hundred primary musicians, supported by our music staff and music tutor team, perform and showcase their musical talents at the concert.

It was also terrific to have students from our Year 8 Out and About Elective, and our Years 9 & 10 Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS) elective participate in overnight camps at Gunbower Estate from 17 to 20 June. Students had the opportunity to experience Camping in Tents and education outdoors activities including Canoeing, Bushwalking, Camp Cooking, Mountain Bike Riding and Orienteering.

Students and attending staff were excited to have the opportunity to head out to Gunbower Estate and a short video capturing their experience can be found HERE

In closing, I wish our students, families, staff and members of the broader Moama Anglican Grammar community well for the school holidays to come.

Stay safe, have a great break and I look forward to seeing our students on our first day back in Term 3 – Tuesday 22 July.

Kind regards,

Mr Scott Downward
