News from School Council

Dear DPS Community,

It’s with a heavy heart—and possibly some overdramatic violin music playing in the background—that I write this message as I prepare to step down as your 2024 DPS school president. This journey has been so much more than a title; it has been a whirlwind of growth, connection, and a true understand on the love and support our teachers have for our school.

To the incredible 2024 committee, thank you for your unwavering dedication and for coming onboard this year with your fresh and new ideas. Your hard work and support have been the backbone of everything we’ve accomplished, and for that, I am forever grateful.

To the students, teachers, and staff, thank you for trusting me to represent you—even on the days when balancing full-time work and school duties meant Sandy was sending out a search party for PO’s to be signed. As I move on, know that this school and its people will always hold a special place in my heart—and probably on my social media highlights. I’ll be cheering for all the amazing things I know you’ll continue to achieve, though I may do it from a safe distance where nobody can see my tears.

The added sadness is that after 11yrs, the Martin family is dropping the mic and departing DPS. Both our girls came, saw and learnt. Myself and Tim have cooked many sausages, dug a few holes, watched many concerts and help raise a few dollars. Our DPS school may be small, but we have a community of big hearts, and I look forward to watching the socials and maybe popping in and buying a cake or a sausage at the next Election Day.

I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. Rest up for an amazing 2025

All the best

Lou Martin – Ex School President 😉
