Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart Community,

Prayer

We pray for the families within our own community who are facing challenges. A big thank you to those parents who are providing support and comfort to these families.

Meet Our New Students

We are very excited to have four new students join our school in the older classes this year. A big welcome to Kerthly (Year One), Martin (Year Four), Layla (Year Five) and Anh (Year Six). I know that our students have and will continue to make our new students feel very comfortable knowing that they are a very important part of their new class.

Exit Gate After School

As of tomorrow night, the school exit gate will be the same gate as used for entry in the morning. With an ever increasing number of students and desire of parents to socialise under the entry foyer (which we strongly encourage as it builds community) the space is being a little congested and difficult for staff to supervise students ensuring they go home safely. Exiting the middle gate should reduce some congestion.

Track tops

We are aware that some school track tops have the school logo printed incorrectly on them (back-to-front). Please check your child's track top and if the logo please return the top to the office as of Monday with your child's name so I  can arrange a replacement.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience as we work with our supplier to rectify this error.

Foundation Class Testing

Each Friday for the first four weeks of the year, Marty conducts some testing with his Foundation students. As you can see from the photos, Marty was impressed with the student's knowledge and skills who tested last Friday.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Merlyn and her beautiful children Glendon (Year Six 2024) and Jazlyn and Tazlyn (Year Four) on their citizenship. We are a richer nation with families such as them living with us. You can see from the photo how much it means to them.

Meet Our New After School Care Staff

Lulu

Hello, my name is Lulu, and I am an educator at the MACSEYE OSHC program. I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where children can learn, play, and grow before and after school.

I hold a Certificate IV in School-Based Education Support and have certifications in First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management, Food Safety, and Allergy Awareness. I also have a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).

I am dedicated to providing engaging activities, fostering positive relationships, and supporting families in our school community. I look forward to working with you and your children to make their before and after school experience enjoyable and enriching!

P/T interviews

(From Antoinette's page)

Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 19th February.  Meeting times will be available from 1:30pm to 7:00pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to meet their child’s teachers and build a strong partnership to support your child’s growth and learning throughout the year.

CDS Fundraising

We will continue to collect recyclable cans and bottles as a fundraiser for the school and more importantly as an initiative to help our precious environment. As you can see from the image below, a very valuable $550 was raised last year in the nine months from April.
