Christmas JOY at our library🎄✨🎅

Spread the joy! The library staff crafted a giant 'JOY' sign, inviting students and staff to share well wishes for the New Year and holidays. The sign, now filled with colourful messages, is proudly displayed in the library, creating a festive and uplifting atmosphere for the upcoming year.

NEW Twilight Market boosts library growth!

Despite Melbourne's unpredictable weather, the local community, staff, and students recently turned out in full force for the Inaugural Twilight Craft Market. Thanks to their support, the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) raised much needed funds which will go towards resources in our library.  This fundraising effort complements the hard work of our library team—Mrs. Ford, Ms. Cao, and Ms. Beavis—who revitalised our non-fiction collection with over 200 new books spanning a wide range of topics. The success of the Twilight Craft Market not only showcases our strong community spirit but also reinforces our ongoing commitment to fostering a love of reading among students.

2024 Stocktake complete!

Term 4 has been a busy time for the library staff, with stocktaking being a top priority. To ensure the process ran smoothly, it was essential that all books were returned by staff and students. Stocktaking helps the LRC team gather important data on borrowing patterns, track available resources, and identify any books that may have been misplaced or misfiled. We appreciated your understanding and patience as we closed the library for two days to complete this essential task.

Clear Out Your Shelves: Donate Textbooks & Help a student!

Do you have any old textbooks you'd like to donate to the library? The LRC is currently seeking good quality current textbook donations that you no longer need, provided you don’t plan to sell or pass them on elsewhere. We ask that textbooks for 2024 be in good condition to ensure they can be used for the 2025 school year.

Each year, the LRC and Wellbeing team support several families at Heathmont College by providing textbooks to students in need. If you're unsure whether a current textbook will be suitable for next year, please feel free to ask a library staff member or check the Year level booklists, which are now available on the college and Lilydale Books websites.

Congratulations to graduating students!

As you transition into the broader world beyond our school, we wish you the best of luck with your dreams for the future.

In addition, as you take your next steps, we encourage you to read more books. Books can be your companions in all seasons of life, offering knowledge, solace, and inspiration.

We look forward to the incredible impact you'll make!

Heathmont Library staff changes for 2025

This term we farewelled Ms Cao who has been a valuable and integral member of our library team for 2 years.  Her knowledge, spirit and sense of humour will be missed.

We wish her well in her future aspirations.
