I am delighted to introduce myself to our Year 10 families. My name is Libby Schuring, and I have been a dedicated educator since 2002, with extensive experience in Head of Year roles. This is my second year serving as Head of Year at St Mary’s, and I am excited to embark on this journey with you.
Year 10 marks a significant transition as students enter Senior Schooling.
At St Mary’s, we are committed to providing multiple pathways to ensure every student can achieve success in their senior years. The theme for Year 10 this year is "Planning your Journey," and throughout this year, students will have numerous opportunities to begin planning their future, starting with Work Experience at the end of Term 1. In addition, we have a Careers Expo, Subject Expo Night and a Year 10 Retreat planned. These events will culminate in SET planning in Term 3, where we will collaborate with you and your child to help them choose the most suitable pathways and subjects for their senior years.
At St Mary’s Catholic College, we believe in and greatly value the partnership between staff, students, and families. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's education and well-being, your first point of call is to please connect with your child's Pastoral Group Mentor. These details can be found on the Parent Portal.
I look forward to working closely with students and their families during this pivotal year.
Kind Regards,
Libby Schuring
Head of Year 10
