Group 13

During the second last week of Term 4, students from Group 13 had the opportunity to attend a Science and Technology excursion at Monash Technical School, which operates within the Monash University campus in Clayton.
In addition to stimulating interest in Science and Technology, the activities undertaken during this excursion provided a wonderful hands-on experience in technology.
Our students were able to control their own mini-robots and pre-program directional instructions with the use of an individual iPad. Some of our students were even able to pre-program a path through a complex maze – a great achievement!
Our students also worked on ‘flight’ activities, modifying whirlybirds to keep them spinning in the air for as long as possible. This type of activity not only enhanced the observational and analytical skills of our students but also fostered experimental learning.
