Building Strong Foundations: The Importance of Rights, Resilience & Respectful Relationships in Primary School

At Pascoe Vale North Primary School, we believe that social and emotional learning is just as important as academic success. That’s why we are committed to the Rights, Resilience & Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program, which helps children develop essential life skills for building positive relationships, managing challenges, and understanding their rights and responsibilities.

This evidence-based program supports students in developing emotional literacy, resilience, and respectful interactions, laying the groundwork for a safer and more inclusive school environment. By teaching skills such as problem-solving, self-awareness, and empathy, RRRR empowers students to navigate friendships, handle conflicts positively, and grow into confident, respectful individuals.

In primary school, these lessons are crucial. Children are forming their understanding of the world, and by embedding these values early, we help them develop lifelong skills in respect, inclusion, and emotional regulation. The program also aligns with the Victorian Curriculum, ensuring that students’ social and emotional development is supported alongside their academic learning.

Through classroom activities, discussions, and real-life applications, we equip our students with the confidence and tools to contribute to a respectful and supportive school community. Together, we are fostering a culture of kindness, resilience, and respect—skills that will benefit our students far beyond their primary school years.
