Ms Kirevski is Getting Married! 💍✨
Our lovely Ms Kirevski is about to walk down the aisle, and we couldn’t be more thrilled for her! To help her prepare for the big day, our creative Year 4 students created everythig from a wedding dress from toilet paper to wedding vowels to host a special dress rehearsal. The students had a fantastic time playing their part in this fun mock rehearsal, complete with Niki practicing her walk down the "aisle" song 'Going to the Chapel' . It was a joyful and heartwarming experience filled with laughter, encouragement, and some creative twists only our Year 4s could dream up!
Niki, we wish you all the very best for your special day and many years of love and happiness ahead. 💕 Thank you for letting us share in your excitement and for giving our students such a unique and memorable moment to celebrate with you.
Step-Up Day Recap!
Yesterday was Step-Up Day, and it was awesome to see the excitement and resilience in our students as they embraced the opportunities of a new year ahead!
Students got to meet their new teachers and learn a little more about them. They met classmates from other classes who will be joining their cohort, creating a positive start for new friendships. Students took time to explore their new learning spaces, routines, and structures., and some temporary locations whilst we are being renovated. Teachers guided students to reflect on their growth this year and set positive goals for the year to come.
It was a fantastic day filled with smiles, curiosity, and lots of fun activities! We’re so proud of how our students embraced the change with such enthusiasm and resilience. We can’t wait to see all they’ll achieve in the year ahead!
Here are some photos of some of our Foundation and Year One students getting ready for the big day and thinking about what they are looking forward to.
Our new classes were filled with fun and excitement, fostering new friendships and promising many exciting adventures ahead.
Christmas Fun
In true Christmas spirit, our Year One students have been busy baking and creating beautiful Christmas ornaments out of salt dough. The staff room was filled with joy and festive music as the students worked on their creations. It was wonderful to see the delightful salt dough decorations taking shape! Thank you to all the parents that assited with this.
End of Year Reminder for Families
As we close out the school year, our staff will be signing off from emails and computers on Tuesday, December 17th, at 1.00pm. This time is dedicated to renewing, relaxing, and recharging with loved ones, allowing us to step into 2025 refreshed and ready for another fantastic year at St. Mary’s. This break is an important opportunity for our team to unwind, reflect, and prepare for the exciting opportunities ahead, and we thank you for your understanding and support.
We say goodbye to some incredible staff members who have made a lasting impact on our St. Mary’s community. They have inspired our students, supported our staff, and contributed so much to our school. We also bid farewell to our Year 6 students, who are leaving us to begin the next exciting chapter of their educational journey, as well as some other students across the school. We thank them all for everything they have brought to our school and wish them the very best in their journeys ahead. May they find great joy and success in all that they do.
A Personal Note
As the year comes to a close, I want to express my gratitude to everyone for welcoming me so warmly into the St. Mary’s community. It’s been a joy to work with such a caring and supportive group of students, staff, and families.
Over the summer, I’ll be spending time with my family, friends, and my beloved puppies. I don’t have any trips planned at the moment. I love taking the summer break day by day, enjoying the freedom to relax and recharge without a schedule. It’s the perfect time to appreciate life’s little moments and spend quality time with loved ones.
If you're searching for fun and engaging activities to enjoy with the kids this summer, be sure to check out 'What's on Moonee Valley.' It’s packed with a variety of exciting events and entertainment options perfect for families or outings with friends. From local adventures to creative workshops and community events, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
Thank you all for a wonderful semester! On behalf of everyone at St. Mary’s, we wish you a joyful, restful summer and a very Merry Christmas. May this holiday season be filled with love, laughter, and time to nourish your mind, body, and spirit. Have a safe and happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2025 for another incredible year together!
