A farewell from Mr Dwyer

Dear St Mary's School Community
As the countdown to my retirement from 39 years of teaching is now nearing the end, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Community for my 14+ years here at St Mary's Primary School.
I have had the opportunity to meet many parents in my roles of classroom teacher, Religious Education Leader and Learning and Teaching Leader. I am most impressed with the commitment that is shown by the community in helping make St Mary's the school it is today, where the children's learning and welfare are paramount. Also the inclusion of our wonderful parents, carers and grandparents in some capacity each year, especially during our two years of remote learning.
I thank you for the personal support shown throughout my time here, for the many school masses, Sacraments and parent meetings, learning conversations and school events. St Mary's is the longest I have spent at any school, mainly due to the exceptional children, staff and parent community plus the many exciting communal opportunities that the school is involved in each year.
In some ways, I will find it difficult to not be involved in the daily routine of education and sharing my personality with the children, but on the other hand I am looking forward to spending time with my wife and family, enjoying becoming a grandparent in February and living life in a more relaxed way. This will include many rounds of golf.
I wish everyone a truly wonderful, happy and holy Christmas and may the new year bring you exciting experiences with your family and friends.
With faith filled blessings to all
Michael Dwyer
